Based on Hamlet’s “To be or not to be,” Natural Shocks is a 65 minute one woman tour-de-force that revolves around a woman waiting out in imminent tornado in her basement. Her monologue overflows with quirks, stories, and a final secret that puts the reality of guns into sharp focus. The play is part confessional, part stand up, and part reckoning.

April 28th at 7 PM & April 29th at 7 PM

King Lear calls his court together to divide his kingdom between his three daughters, Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia. He calls on them to declare how much they love him and when Cordelia answers him with private thoughts in an all-too-public setting, Lear becomes filled with rage. He curses and disowns Cordelia, banishes the noble Kent and sets a tragedy in motion.

It’s a play about nature and nurture, what makes a person legitimate, how our emotions can overtake us. It has been called a play in which “no lives matter”, yet despite the devastation in this tragedy there is a strong undercurrent of redemption.

Twenty-three actors from ages 10 to 18 will be taking multiple roles with onstage character changes.
