Winning the Future
Up & Down Theatre Company will present their satirical musical cabaret Winning the Future at The Adobe Rose Theatre Thursday, October 20th through Sunday, November 6th, 2016. Performances will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm, and Sunday’s at 3:00 pm.
Written by and starring Kate Chavez and Lindsey Hope Pearlman alongside Santa Fe jazz piano favorite Robin Holloway, Winning the Future is equal parts political satire, sketch comedy, and musical theatre. Three performers examine the political, economic and social circumstances of our times in a hilarious take on what it means to be American in 2016.
The Santa Fe- based trio’s comedic, musical send up of Donald Trump’s campaign slogan MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN recently went viral on Facebook and YouTube, earning more than 2.8 million views. The video was shared by the distribution platform Occupy Democrats, and won the "Crowd Favorite" category in MoveOn.org's Laughter Trumps Hate competition.
